This week 13 second-year students in IESE’s full-time MBA program landed in Rio de Janeiro to take part in the school’s Brazil Business Trek. The week-long event gives future graduates a close-up view of working in a specific country, while making valuable career connections.
Among the companies the students will visit in Rio de Janeiro are GlaxoSmithKline, B2W and L’Oreal. On Tuesday, they will head to Sao Paulo to meet with representatives from firms such as Schneider Electric, BASF, Gafisa, Natura, Integration, DuPont, Itaú, Latam Airlines and Startuphouse.
Career Treks give students the chance to visit corporate offices and network with managers, executives and IESE alumni living in diverse regions. The school’s Career Services Department organizes the treks often in close collaboration with MBA student clubs. In addition to Brazil, other treks are led in Dubai, London, Switzerland, Italy, Silicon Valley, India, Japan and Singapore.
All of the students participating are members of the school’s 2014 graduating class. They reflect diverse nationalities and, among them, speak multiple languages including Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic.
