IESE business school will today open the doors to its new campus in Munich, Germany. Among those present at the ceremony will be IESE Dean Jordi Canals; Joachim Herrmann, deputy prime minister of Bavaria; and Franz M. Haniel, CEO of Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH. They will be joined by over 300 guests, including IESE alumni, international business leaders and German executives.
The new headquarters in Germany consolidates IESE’s presence in the country. The school has been active in Munich since the launch of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) there in 2005. Since then, it has run other Executive Education and Custom Programs for many of Germany’s multinationals including Allianz, BASF, Berterslmann, BMW, Deutsche Bank, EADS, Haniel Group, Henkel, MAN, Opel, Phoenix and Volkswagen.
IESE is the first international business school to set up a permanent campus in Germany. The new facilities will allow the short- and medium-term launch of a wide portfolio of programs for the German and Central European markets. New Custom Programs and some MBA program modules will be added to a range that already includes Advanced Management Program (AMP) and Program for Management Development (PMD). It is anticipated that the German campus will have two Research Centers, one for Family Business and the other studying Manufacturing and Innovation.
10 Years of Growth in Germany
IESE began its activities in Germany in 2005 with the launch of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) for senior executives. In 2011, it added the Program for Management Development (PMD), for high-potential functional managers.
The school currently has over 1,000 alumni in Germany and around 60 German students on its MBA programs every year.
IESE’s faculty comprises 115 full-time professors from over 30 countries, all of whom hold PhDs from the world’s best universities. At present, 15 faculty members are German.
The opening of the campus in Munich underscores the continual international growth of the school, which is already a leader in terms of global scope. IESE has permanent campuses in Barcelona, Madrid, New York and Munich, and also offers programs in China, India, Kenya, Mexico and Poland.
Global Impact and Global Recognition
The inauguration of the new facilities coincides with anniversary celebrations to mark 50 years of IESE’s MBA program.
The school has contributed for over half a century to the growth and development of 15 postgraduate business education institutions in emerging countries including Brazil, Colombia, China, Kenya, Mexico and Nigeria.
