IESE’s New York Center will be the backdrop on Sept. 4 for the school’s first-ever Career Expo, which will also include students from London Business School, HEC and Rotterdam School of Management.
The expo marks the first time that IESE has organized a major recruiting event outside of its global campus in Barcelona. By bringing together MBA students from various top European schools, the event helps meet the needs of U.S. recruiters and provides an important pool of talent ideally suited for global management positions.
The initiative also expands the number of employment options available for participating MBA students who would like to pursue careers in North America. Companies participating in the expo include GE, PWC, Deloitte, Schneider Electric, Glocap Search, Cognizant and MVW. More than 100 students will participate in the full-day event.
A similar event aimed at Asian companies interested in recruiting European MBA graduates is set to be held in London, hosted at the London Business School in partnership with IESE, RSM, HEC and IMD.
"In a business world that is ever more global, IESE recognizes the importance of attending to both recruiters’ interests of hiring tomorrow’s global leaders and students’ desires to have more employment choices, and who are increasingly more flexible and mobile regarding job opportunities," said IESE Director of Career Services Javier Muñoz.
"We have Career Service staff located strategically around the world and we are responding to what they are hearing from the recruiters and HR staff they work with. We plan to expand these career forums to other international locations over the next few years," he said.
Of the MBA students attending the Career Expo, 87 percent speak at least two languages. Nationalities represented at the Career Expo include approximately 4 percent from Canada, 7 percent from Latin America, 30 percent from the U.S. and 47 percent from other parts of the world.
